These measurements will be taken by a very simple blood test that is given to you by your doctor. If the results come back showing that you have very low amounts of T4 and T3, but high amounts of thyroid stimulating hormone then there is a pretty good chance that you are indeed suffering from hypothyroidism.

Your local doctor will most likely prescribe you with some levothyroxine which will work to get your thyroid hormones right back into the healthy range… which will result in your metabolism rising, and therefore you will begin to burn more calories.

2. Start Consuming Meals That Have a Good Portion of Vegetables and Protein in Them

If there’s one thing that will help you lose weight when you have hypothyroidism, it’s making sure that you begin to eat healthy and balanced meals! Every meal that you sit down to eat should contain a portion of vegetables and a portion of protein.

While we all know that vegetables are very important for us, protein is equally important and something that you are going to want to seriously include as part of your diet. It’s very satiating which will mean that you will be able to get through your day very comfortably without feeling like you need to gorge on junk foods! This is exactly what you want when you want to lose weight.

Just remember that while the journey won’t be easy, it isn’t impossible and so just keep putting in the effort every single day because it’s the key to helping you lose weight and overcome hypothyroidism for good.
