While, there is no magic pill that one can consume to immediately nullify the chances of acquiring cancer, dietary choices can make a tremendous difference. The importance of a healthy diet cannot be stressed enough because of the enormous differences it makes. The California Cancer Center along with many other medical centers have many articles talking about diet and how it affects our health.

Let’s take a look at what one can consume to help reduce the risk of cancer.

Vitamin E and An Excellent Source Peanuts

Vitamin E is known as being an excellent source to fight off cancers that involve the lungs, colon, stomach, and liver. Where can one get the right amount of vitamin E in their diet?

There are a range of options out there, but one of the finest sources of this vitamin comes in the form of peanuts. Peanuts are a great source that can easily be added to one’s daily diet in order to see impressive results in terms of preventing cancer. (Read more about peanuts and other nuts here)

Peanuts in their original form are not the only way of getting this vitamin. Peanut butter is able to provide very similar results with great effect as one desires.

For those who do not want peanut butter in their diet or might be allergic, there is another solution out there. Almond butter is able to achieve the same effect because it is also rich with vitamin E. Either of these options are able to get the job done and help prevent a host of different cancers.

Vitamin D A Great Fighter of Cancer Can be Found in Salmon

Vitamin D is another essential addition to one’s diet especially if those levels are plummeting according to medical reports. Vitamin D has been known as a great fighter against cancers and can help prevent them from becoming a reality.

Wild salmon is currently one of the best, pure sources of vitamin D that is healthy. If one does not like the idea of consuming wild fish, another source comes in the form of milk or even yogurt.

Dairy such as cheese, milk and yogurt products in general are rich with this vitamin and do a wonderful job for those who want to see results.

While, it is not recommended to move away from natural means of consuming these vitamins, one can take multivitamins to almost acquire the same effect. It is not preferred, but definately better than nothing for those who have low levels in their system.

Pomegranates Contain a Beneficial Acid Known as Ellegic

There are a host of different studies available on the viability of berries, but what about pomegranates for those who want to reduce their chances of acquiring cancer?

Pomegranates are an excellent dietary choice for those who want to reduce the risk of cancer. They can be found in almost all grocery stores, are easy to consume and taste great in different forms such as smoothies.

Adding these into one’s diet can go a long way in helping to prevent cancer. Along with berries and other healthy eating options, pomegranates can truly have an incredible effect on one’s system.

Ellegic acid a substance that is found within pomegranates is the reason for this being a great preventative food when it comes to cancer. This acid is also present in a number of different options such as strawberries, blueberries, walnuts, cranberries, and pecans. Adding any of these to one’s diet or better a combination of them is a tremendous boost to one’s ability to starve off cancer.

Are there other options beyond these three? Yes, there are a vast amount of nutritious foods such as broccoli, flaxseed, tea, grapefruit, and sweet potatoes but this is a small list. Spending a bit of time in the local produce markets can open one’s eyes in the choices of products that are available to all of us.

Another simple yet effective thing we can all do more of is the consumption of water. This is always beneficial not only to prevent cancer, but to ensure one remains healthy in general.

Investing More Time In Your Food Choices Can Have Long Term Benefits

Finding nutritious foods that help prevent cancer is not difficult at all, however it does require us to spend a bit more time looking and purchasing these types of foods. Sure going to a drive through is fast and convenient but is it the best thing for us in the long run? This is a question we should be asking ourselves. Spending these few extra minutes buying and preparing these healthier foods can have many benefits both in the long term and also for the short term in the prevention of cancer.
